I-PAINTClay Construction Techniques
This document provides an overview of the various clay construction techniques that are possible with Tierrafino Clay Products.
Such as: BASE, DURO, FINISH, clay Paints and how to use them on different surface materials.
Description of materials used:
Fermacell RK glued, 100 mm wide tape with glass fiber reinforced. TierraCol Contact clay 3
mm roughened with a metal comb. 5 mm BASE S2 without straw, smoothly plastered with Listro
Iquitos green.
Finishing with other clay construction products is possible of course.
Description of materials used:
Clay plate 22 mm, jute 150 mm reinforced, TierraCol Contact 3 mm roughened with a
metal comb, 5 mm BASE S2 smoothly plastered without straw and with DryPaint in four
polishes thin layers on a high-gloss finish. Finishing with other clay construction products is possible.
Description of materials used:
Gutex wood fiber insulation board 20 mm, WEM heating system, 20 mm BASE with straw S1, roughened with metal comb, 10 mm BASE S1 with straw and glass fiber reinforcement over it. Maximum 5 mm BASE S1 with straw, smoothly plastered. I-Paint Nassau Orange. Finishing with other clay construction products is possible.
Description of materials used:
Plasterboard with the joints and holes filled. Tierrafino Contact primer, 3 mm Tierrafino FINISH Delphi white. For other finishes such as DURO, T-Paint, DryPaint and I-Paint, level the substrate completely with Gypsum or TierraCol 3 – 5 mm.

20 mm Wedi-Board, primer Ardex P51, 4 mm Ardex A950, glass fiber reinforced, 3 mm Ardex A950, roughened with a textured roller, 4 – 5 mm Tierrafino Stone (Tadelakt) 5% Gomera gray and 95% Delphi white, diamond shaped sgraffito.
Description of materials used:
Reed, 10 mm BASE S2 without straw, 10 mm BASE S2 without straw, 3 mm Tierrafino FINISH Dover-white rough finished. Other Finishes such as DURO, T-Paint, I-Paint and DryPaint are also possible of course.
Description of materials used:
Stone mesh, 10 mm BASE S2 without straw, 10 mm BASE S2 without straw. Left side: Maximum 3.5 mm Tierrafino FINISH Gomera gray with 10% mother-of-pearl, scouring pad and brushed. Right side: 5 mm Tierrafino BASE White, treated with a rough abrasive sponge. Other finishes naturally possible.

Gutex wood fiber insulation board 40 mm, 3 mm TierraCol, 100 mm wide glass fiber reinforcement, 10 mm BASE S2 with straw, DryPaint in two layers, painted. Other finishes also possible.

Brick. Left side: 8 mm BASE S1 with straw and 2 mm DURO Dover white, stainless steel plaster profile. Right side: primer Ardex P51, 4 mm Ardex A950, fiberglass reinforcement, 3 mm Ardex A950, roughened with a textured roller, Tierrafino STONE (Tadelakt) 4 – 5 mm Gomera gray with Hare sgrafitto.
