Our Journey

Over 50 Years Ago

Our story began with our founder, Carl Giskes—an artist, craftsman, and inventor.

After returning from a seven-year journey on foot through Africa, India, and South America, Carl recognized that the global north had lost its way, replacing natural building materials like clay and lime with cement and concrete. This realization ignited a simple yet profound mission: to bring the Earth’s finest materials back into interiors, creating environments that are not only aesthetically beautiful but also promote well-being and sustainability.

Steward ownership allows us to focus on our primary role: to develop and produce Fine Earth plasters and paints that empower our ecosystem of plasterers and architects.
